Dan Carroll, PT, FAAOMPT

Move what is stiff. Strengthen what is weak. Stabilize what is less controlled. That is the whole method, and it is why this practice exists.

He tried the corporate model first. It did not fit.

Dan grew up in Rockaway and went to Morris Hills High School, then on to the University of Scranton. After graduation he enrolled in a manual therapy certification program with the Manual Therapy Institute and went on to complete their AAOMPT credentialed Manual Therapy Fellowship. He later certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation through the American Institute of Balance. The FAAOMPT after his name means Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

He has always worked in private practice. He began with a larger private corporate group and, in his words, “quickly found their approach to patient care did not align with my core values.” So he moved from practice to practice until he found one that was well run and aligned with what he believed. That owner became his mentor and helped him open his own. He has been in business serving this community for over 10 years.

His method is the reason this practice looks the way it does. PT should be simple: move that which is stiff, strengthen and condition that which is weak, stabilize that which is less controlled. As he puts it, “all too often we over complicate things unnecessarily.” Ask him which condition he most enjoys treating and he will correct the question: “it’s not the condition that is enjoyable, it’s the patient who is committed to the process that makes it fun.”

Two lines he keeps in view: “If you aim at nothing, you’ll hit it all the time.” And, “The wake doesn’t drive the boat.”

"Update: seeing Dan Carroll for another issue. Excellent in diagnosing, and coming up with a treatment plan. Saw Dan C. for a different ailment. Still my go-to PT!!! Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic!"
